Madhura Marathe is a researcher in theoretical and computational materials physics. Her published research has focused particularly on ferroelectric materials and the electrocaloric effect, including the behaviour of barium titanate (BaTiO3) under changes in electric field, temperature and mechanical strain.
Research
Marathe has used first-principles-based computational methods and molecular-dynamics simulations to investigate electrocaloric phenomena. This includes research into the temperature and entropy changes produced by electric fields in ferroelectric materials and the influence of phase transitions on those effects.[1]
