Indian television actress known for Marathi and Hindi roles (1987–2025)

Priya Marathe (1987–2025) was an Indian actress known particularly for her work in Marathi and Hindi television. Over a career spanning approximately two decades, she appeared in a range of television dramas and became widely recognised for her portrayal of Varsha in Pavitra Rishta.

Television career

Marathe began her acting career in Marathi television, appearing in series including Ya Sukhano Ya and Char Divas Sasuche. She later moved into Hindi television, with roles in programmes including Kasamh Se and Pavitra Rishta.^[1]

Her other television work included Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, Tu Tithe Me, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya and Tuzech Mi Geet Gaat Aahe. She also appeared as a performer on Comedy Circus.^[1]

Legacy

Priya Marathe died in August 2025 at the age of 38. She is remembered particularly for the range of characters she portrayed across both Marathi and Hindi-language television.^[1]
