Sushant Marathe

Indian first-class cricketer and wicketkeeper-batsman

Sushant Marathe is an Indian cricketer from Mumbai, Maharashtra. A left-handed batsman and wicketkeeper, he has represented Mumbai in domestic cricket and has also been associated with West Zone and Indian Premier League teams.

Cricket career

Marathe attracted attention in Mumbai cricket after captaining the Mumbai Under-22 side to victory in the 2007–08 C.K. Nayudu Trophy. He went on to play first-class cricket for Mumbai.^[1]

His career has also included involvement in the Indian Premier League. Sushant Marathe was signed by Kochi Tuskers Kerala and was subsequently picked up by Mumbai Indians after the Kochi franchise was disbanded. He was later named as a replacement in the Mumbai Indians squad for the 2014 Champions League Twenty20.^[1]

Playing style

Marathe is primarily a wicketkeeper-batsman who bats left-handed. He has also played extensively in Mumbai club cricket and recorded an unbeaten double-century in the Kanga League.^[1]
